I am a graphic designer with a particular fondness for a hot cup of tea, make-believe, and scrumptious typography.

I am a make-believer, down-the-rabbit-hole chaser, and steward of the stories I share with others. Most importantly, I maintain a strong passion for pursuing wonder through my design. What this means for me, is that design should either add more wonder and beauty to the world or be a way that we can communicate the wonder that already exists here. My design will seek to become a door that opens up to wonder, spilling it out into the world for others. I have developed a passion for art and design that serves to create meaningful connections and tell the stories of others.

Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?

You're right where you're supposed to be. (Esther 4:14)

What's your favorite A+D memory?

Anspach making us personalized legos for our last class with him!

What was your favorite A+D class?

The study abroad trip to Italy! The courses I took abroad fulfilled my dream of studying abroad in college and exceeded all expectations for exploring, learning, and absorbing as much nature, history, culture, art, and design as I could in three weeks. Even better, the people I went with were just as eager to study every brushstroke and headstone!

What moment, project, and/or critique in your Art + Design career at AU has been pivotal to who you are as an artist or creator?

There are so many that come to mind, and I am so grateful for each of them. I think the seemingly small, everyday moments have built up into making the most impact on who I am as a creator. If I had to pick one, my third typeface design, Devota, was such a culminating piece that I am very proud of. The story of how it came to be and what it means is so special.

What's next for you?

Lord willing, I am going to Charleston for freelancing and the beginning of an exciting career in design! I am eager to see what else the Lord has in store.

How do you hope your work makes an impact?

However big or small, I hope that my work starts conversations and celebrates memories, moments, and encourages life affirming narratives.

How do you hope your work makes an impact?

My hope is that my design would either add more wonder and beauty to the world or be a way that I can help communicate the wonder that already exists here.

How do you hope your work makes an impact?

For my Senior Design Project, I have felt inspired to develop and design a non-profit organization for the city of Anderson, South Carolina that is galvanized by the work being done at 826 Valencia. The cultivation of wonder and creative support provided at 826 Valencia’s Pirate Supply Shop have truly inspired me. I am currently crafting the design and organization of a quality learning environment along with a storefront experience that offers a distinctive, whimsical, and otherworldly experience in Anderson.
