Hi! I am someone who likes to express who I am through design, shoes, and someone who loves to serve and love others well. When feeling most like myself is when I am serving others with things like design and other gifts that God has blessed me with. A few things I love to do is hang with my bestie, go shopping, take pictures, and spend time with family.

As a designer, I want to be a good listener to others and represent them well through how I design. I design with tools, philosophy, outlook, and a process that creates a path for me to design. I design as a creative outlook for my skills and desires to be used, to enhance the gifts God has blessed me with to glorify him. I also design so that I can give a physical or digital presence to someone or something else. I want people to give me an idea of what they are looking for, and then for me to design their dream idea, leaving them with something physical that they have only envisioned. I want to leave the world in a better place than how I found it. Using my gifts and talents to design and create, I want to make a world full of hope, joy, inclusivity, and uniqueness.

Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?

Advice that I would have given myself is to not be afraid to be who I am. So many years I spent covering up or hiding who I am because I was afraid of what others may think or that they may not accept me, and to be fair, not everyone will accept or love who I am but that's okay.

What's your favorite A+D memory?

The shoutouts that are done on Insta (or other areas) to highlight the students that are in AU. Love learning about each other!

What was your favorite A+D class?

My favorite class was Branding! I feel this was a class where I really grew and felt like I was starting to understand my process and how I design, and also how to really grow and learn from other designers and peers.

What moment, project, and/or critique in your Art + Design career at AU has been pivotal to who you are as an artist or creator?

A moment that has been pivotal to who I am as a creator, were the times that the professors took intentional time to talk to me. If my design wasn't working, they made sure to let me know to try a different direction, or if I was struggling with something in the design process, they made sure to answer any questions I had.

What's next for you?

My next steps are a little unknown, whether that is starting design work somewhere, or start freelancing on my own, I am not sure. With the job I end up with, I want it to be some place where I am heard and am pushed to be a better creative and person.

How do you hope your work makes an impact?

I hope my work makes an impact by how I listen to others. I want my work to show each person's uniqueness and be able to clearly show who they are and how they can change or impact the world with who they are

Give us a preview of what you're working on for the Senior Show!

I hope to be able to have a booklet, cards, or a physical item for people to view. I also want to have something people are able to take with them like a keychain, sticker, or tote. I may have more but I don't know yet!
