The most significant aspect of my design process is exploration. Whether I'm working in graphic design or printmaking, I have to give myself room to breathe and play rather than holding myself to unrealistic timelines. I believe in creativity existing as worship and a beckoning towards something greater than ourselves. Creativity, to me, is a way to express my emotions, desires, and qualms in a way that words cannot.
Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?
You procrastinate usually because you're scared you're not enough, override this by jumping in with exploration and brainstorming and you will quickly prove yourself wrong.
What's your favorite A+D memory?
Going to Italy! It was so special to experience that with my friends from the art department!
What was your favorite A+D class? History of Graphic Design. This class really broadened the horizons of what design can be and the power it has.
What moment, project, and/or critique in your Art + Design career at AU has been pivotal to who you are as an artist or creator?
Learning linoleum block printing in my printmaking class was pivotal because it unlocked the passion I have for printmaking.
What's next for you?
I will be working in Greenville and continuing printmaking on the side!
How do you hope your work makes an impact?
