I enjoy making spaces and environments that have a specific feel that brings subjects to live, showing them in a "lived in" way. I like to focus on the details and capturing little moments that feel authentic. I am inspired by everyday objects and love to incorporate pieces together, reimagining them
Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?
Go full tilt! A few A+D faculty gave me this advice and I 100% agree. It’s important I stop holding myself back and put my all into my work.
What's your favorite A+D memory?
Late nights in the photography studio with friends!
What was your favorite A+D class? Photo 2 film was my favorite class. This was my first time working in analog photography and it helped me to see photo in a new way. It gave a physical form to photography that I had never experienced and I loved it! There were many nights spent in the darkroom that I will always cherish.
What moment, project, and/or critique in your Art + Design career at AU has been pivotal to who you are as an artist or creator?
Taking the studio lighting course was a pivotal point for me. I honestly was dreading having to take this class and it wasn't until the end of the course that I realized I love shooting in a studio setting. I didn't let myself enjoy it at first and I finally gave it a chance and it changed what type of photography I wanted to pursue!
What's next for you?
No idea! I hope to find a creative job in photography and continue to grow my portfolio.
How do you hope your work makes an impact?
I hope it makes people appreciate the beauty in everyday objects and cherish the little moments.
